Partnerships
We work in partnership to build collective digital resilience
Building a community of practice for digital change
The fundamental recognition that digital change can be all encompassing and requires many specialist skills, is what encourages us to build long lasting partnerships with digital partners when building digital resilience in the charity sector.
Over the last 7 years we have built a network of organisations and freelancers that range from digital agencies to CTOs and IT partners, facilitators to designers that we can scan to match to new briefs and projects, but equally to come together to address how we drive digital resilience across the social impact sector.
Our advocacy approach
The system in which we work is complicated and our work is complex and there remains a critical need to fund digital infrastructure for social sector organisations. However funding for digital is piecemeal at best. Organisations weave a patchwork from available funding pots to invest in digital and maintenance budgets are often overlooked making longer term transformation tricky.
Through building a digital resilience community of practice we will share knowledge, ideas and resources to influence and increase the investment in digital resilience across the social economy, changing future systems for collective benefit.
We see an opportunity to evolve the way digital is viewed and funded by grant-making organisations, seeking:
Coordination and clarity on how funders intend to prioritise digital
Direct input from organisations on how to achieve sustainable funding streams that allow them to invest more flexibly in digital
Participatory grant making processes with the potential to create a more inclusive approach to how funding decisions are made
We were keen to work together on projects but also busy and bit transactional about things. We didn’t immediately see the potential value of the partnership for what it was - a chance to massively multiply our impact. Now we’ve slotted comfortably into the Tech for Good community that Dot Project have fostered across the South West. This has generated its own partnerships and opportunities. Dot Project’s vision and ambition continues to inspire us to multiply our impact wherever we can.
